I’m in my final year with the Hydropower Intern Program and the experience has been absolutely excellent!

Getting to work on site at the dams beside the electricians, mechanics, and other craftsmen has brought the theoretical ideas learned in school into the real world.

The program gives you the opportunity to travel around the region to different dams and headquarters buildings on training rotations which has totally helped build a solid network of other engineers to collaborate with and reach out to.

I have gotten to know on both a professional and personal level the people who are in the intern program now or who have graduated from it. This no doubt has given me the drive to try and continue learning with a passion for the work being done. Besides all that, It’s just really cool to work at a dam next to massive turbines, generators, valves and circuit breakers!
