Mr. Donny D. Davidson, Jr., serves as Northwestern Division’s interim Director of Programs where he is responsible for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ civil works mission consisting of planning, navigation, flood control, stream bank and shore protection, hurricane and storm damage reduction, emergency preparedness response and recovery, hydropower, water supply, recreation, environmental protection and recovery, permitting, real estate, and interagency and international support activities across the Columbia and Missouri River basins -- an area comprising about a fourth of the continental United States. The Northwestern Division has 5,800 employees and an annual operating budget of $2 billion.
Mr. Davidson possesses over two decades of extensive experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, demonstrating a comprehensive background in engineering, construction, and project management. Prior to joining Northwestern Division, he served as the Memphis District’s deputy district engineer for project management. His career includes leadership roles in both Civil Works and Military Programs, and includes assignments in South Korea, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Iraq.
Mr. Davidson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Memphis. He is a licensed professional engineer in Tennessee. He holds a Level III Facilities Engineering Certification as well as Level II Contracting Certification.
