Fort Pierre, South Dakota spring public meeting canceled; Sioux City, Iowa meeting to be held as scheduled

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Missouri River Basin Water Management Division canceled the spring public meeting scheduled to be held today in Fort Pierre, South Dakota today, April 10, due to blizzard conditions that prevented the Corps officials from landing at the local airport.

The meeting held last night in Bismarck, North Dakota was recorded and the presentations will be made available online at www.nwd.usace.army.mil/mrwm.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the meeting cancelation,” said John Remus, chief of the Missouri Basin Water Management Division. “We value the importance of these public meetings and we will accept public comments online.”

The Sioux City, Iowa meeting will take place as scheduled as follows:

  • Start time: 4 p.m. (CDT)
  • Sioux City Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center (auditorium)
  • Betty Strong Encounter Center
  • 900 Larsen Park Rd.
