USACE Seattle District Praises Community Partners as Ballard Locks Fish Ladder Viewing Room Re-opens
SEATTLE - Members of the public watch salmon runs in the newly renovated fish ladder viewing room, Aug. 16, 2021, after Col. Alexander 'Xander' Bullock, district commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, held a ribbon cutting ceremony to formally re-open the facility. Two non-profit organizations, The Corps Foundation and Discover Your Northwest, pooled resources and raised around $1.2 million – the largest challenge partnership donation in USACE’s history – toward the renovation project.
